URBAN BREAK 2024
Asia's largest urban & street art festival, #URBAN BREAK (urbanbreak.com), will be held at COEX Hall B from July 11th to 14th, 2024, hosted by the URBAN BREAK Organizing Committee.
#URBAN BREAK is an event hosted by the URBAN BREAK Committee and URBAN COMPLEX Corp, and sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the ARTS COUNCIL KOREA Arts Management Support Center. Celebrating its 5th anniversary in 2024, the event will be positioned as a special art festival where visitors can experience satisfaction through various senses under the concept of 'Satisfying the Five Senses'.
URBAN BREAK is growing into Asia's largest ART FESTIVAL where you can experience various expansions of visual art based on urban & street art. It collaborates with artists who create their own unique creatives without genre restrictions, and presents new and innovative art content that anyone can easily enjoy by combining various content such as music, fashion, street dance, and F&B based on visual art.
This year's theme for URBAN BREAK is 'Crazy Experience,' and the exhibition is planned to allow visitors to enjoy art experiences through a more sensory approach.
Departing from the formal layout of conventional art fairs, the event aims to create a unique space and express space regeneration by designing an attractive space that enhances and maximizes the visitor experience of diverse art content.
The artworks and artists showcased at this year's URBAN BREAK include:
▲The beginning of Guding Art, the beautiful scenes of Choi Jong-chun and Gu Sana couple's happy daily life, inspired by an old European couple, hoping to age like them.
▲Artist Wilson Pairs (@wilson.pairs) depicting the stories of objects that wash up on the shores of an isolated island inhabited by the character Wilson and his friends.
▲Artist Phil Dok (@fxxldoggssy) revisiting the memories of his body moving differently each time, despite the same music, location, and materials, while dancing in Lee, transferring it to his studio to be reborn as contemplation and painting, and showing it as a colorful performance.
▲Nerdy Artist Union (NAU), a creative group that delivers astonishing results by combining challenging visualization techniques and art.
▲“Except for sleeping, I just kept drawing.” The late artist Kim Jung-gi (@kimjunggius), whose every step was solely dedicated to drawing. Kim Jung-gi's last collaboration item.
